Hey, nice rosehair! Have you definitavely sexed it yet? I have a 6-7ish y.o female myself; super pleased she turned out to be a girl so I can enjoy the long lifespan!
To answer the question above about diet, insects and - if you can stomach it - neo-natal mice are both well-loved foods of tarantulas. I feed mine a diet of mostly gut-loaded crickets, and she's a huge healthy girl on it. She'll take super meal worms occasionally but doesn't like how they whip around. The only time she ever got mice was when she was still at the zoo recovering from starvation, dehydration, and parasites; she and five others had been badly neglected at a pet store and three survived thanks to a very caring person who brought them to us.

She's lovely, I used to keep pink toed tarantulas but never had much luck when it came time to molt.

I love the way they look like cuddly furry spiders from the top, but when you tip them up and look underneath, they have huge hooked fangs. I always pointed this out to people right after I'd put her on them

I won't have another, Dylan is far to young to be around one, he's no where near careful enough to handle her and he just couldn't bear having one around but not being able to hold it.

Oh and btw, this:
You have a look on your face like i would though
really made me laugh

Are tarantulas venomous? And if so, is the venom dangerous to humans?

all spiders are venomous but most as you know are not deadly to people. Tarantulas aren't deadly unless you are allergic to them, on the whole people that are allergic to bee and wasp stings are allergic to T's. they are lovely pets, and some of the most beautiful creatures on this earth (well that's what I think)

Ooh I want one! What does he eat?

Someone donated a glass tank complete with 2 tarantulas to a charity shop (Redditch, Worcs). They have lost the spiders! Nobody knows where they are. According to the report they are "not venomous". :fun: Your spider looks very nice BTW. I like spiders because they eat insects, which I don't like. I had a daddy long legs in my hair today.
