I've heard not to keep tanks near speakers because of what im guessing is the vibrations?
I'm planning on getting myself a fluval 125 (well more like the girlfriend is, i just stock it lol).

The only thing is, the only place i can really put it will be in the bedroom.
However the tank wont be near the speakers, they're pretty loud & on most of the day (i'm a music producer & dj).

My 90L has been fine but it isnt directly in line with the speakers.

I cant imagin there been a problem tho as im pretty sure there'll be more vibration coming from the air stone then any speaker would cause at a sensable distance from the tank!

Just thought i'd see what people think to keep the banter going B-) lol.

My JVC stereo is about 2-3 meters away from my tank, it pumps out 400 Watts of music. My tank has been fine for the past 16 months, it is not facing the tank though. My fish respond more too doors closing and sudden movements.

My 2 cents

I washed my full stack in hot water & it shrunk.

Between practicing at the drummer's place years ago while he bred fish directly overhead, and building racks in the fishroom with loud power tools while there are fish in other tanks it hasn't been a big deal here. I think fish, like many other animals, become accustomed to the daily sounds.

I think if the vibrations from loud music would be enought to harm or stress the fish then the vibrations from the filter would surely be about 10x worse for them. I have wondered before about the level of internal filter vibrations but I guess it can't be a problem or lots of people would have noticed.

Nice Strat! Water is a better medium for sound conduction than air is, so they will definitely hear the music. But as stated before, they should adjust to it over time.

My 120l is about 8" from the tv surround sound speaker and when we watch a film with it on I see no reaction from the fish.
