This looks fine from what I've read/learnt so far, true though you're nitrate could be lower i suppose.

You'd need to check which types of fish would be best for that PH i guess.

PH is spot my only concern would be the nitrite level but if you have recently added stock this could be the cause. SG IMO is a little high 1.025 - 1.024 would be better. I would't worry about nitrate at that level but would keep an eye on the level incase it climbs.

Hope that helps.

Yeah my SG is a little high. Its usually about 1.023/4 was tryin to raise it but it went a bit high. might buy some of that polyfilter stuff which soaks up all the crap in your tank......

It helped with mine but it's not perfect even with it running 24/7 but I'm running filter floss and Rowaphos in a small internal so can't get much of it in their. I'm happy with it though :)

How much LR you got in there, and what size is the tank? Also, how long has it been cycling?

Its an 8 gallon tnak inc water in the external fluval 304

Its been set up since the 1st of november so around 2 months!

Theres around 4Kg of live rock in there. Lookin to get another kg in there in the next month.

In my fluval i had the
4 sponges,
a tray of pre filtermedia or biomax media.. ,
a tray of what i think is carbon,
and a tray of what looks like gravel :S which i have also put some rowaphos in this tray.

i really dont think this set up in my external is the best??? everyweek i disconect my filter clean everythin with tap water (becasue i dont want it to turn biological yeah???) and then fill with fresh salt RO

If anyone has any better sugestions then please tell when what i can do to improve my tank :d:D:D

Thanks!

Try that nitrite test again, doesnt seem right. If you still get 0.25, take a sample to your LFS the next time you go and ask them to verify

At 2 months old, nitrites should be 0 unless something is actively decomposing in the tank.
