I live in the nort west of England (Blackpool for any locals) and the warm spring weather has been causing trouble for me. I have to keep turning my heaters off to keep temps down. Even though they are running on the lowest setting they are still getting up to 28 and although my fish will manage it isnt really compatable for them long term. However in fluctuations up and down worry me. Is anyone else having any problems??

what Litre tank do you have?
what Wattage heater is it

the general rule is:
50W heater for up to 50L
100W heater for up to 100L and so on

you sounds like you have the wrong size heater for your tank, if its too large then you will have this problem, its hot down here in the south coast but i dont have a problem with mine, i did however have a 100W in a 50L and this did cause the temp to stay high

All you do is increase aeration in the tank, when it gets really hot I just use a fan in the room.
Don't bother altering temp with water changes it just stresses the fish, if there plenty of aeration in the tank the fish will cope.
