ok so my partner was cleaning our tank last night and took the heater out to clean it as it had some algae on it, and by accident must of turned the heater up whilst doing so. All last night the heater was up to about 34 all fish are still alive and look ok am i likely to loose any fish i usually run at around 24-25 is this ok?
we have 2 mollies, 4 platy and 6 corys at mo in a 10 gallon tank.

Thanks for any help

They should be fine providing you let the water cool on its own and readjust the heater.

Many thanks weve turned tank down to 24 is this an ok temp and weve left lid open on tank.

24 is fine for everything in the tank currently, presuming the Corydora's aren't one of the few species that prefers higher temperatures.

if then temperature takes a sudden drop or rise it can stress the fish. any accidents yet? i presume they'll be ok :look:

Despite the heater being turned up all the way to 34, the water may not have been anywhere near that temp, heater thermostats are reknowned for being inaccurate eg. I have to turn one of my Juwel heaters to 30 to get an actaul temp of 24C.

Have you got an internal thermometer in there to verify the water temp?

yep, got a couple of aqua one heaters and they're not too bad in the middle of the range but with the thermostats set to 34C my tanks are around 28C. Big difference.
