I'm about to order my new tank (48x24x24) and am looking for somewhere to get a cabinet for it to sit on and put the sump in and a small open top hood to conceal the braces / top of the water.

The place I'm looking at getting the tank from will make a wooden cabinet to go with it, but the price isn't small...

Given the dimensions of the tank it needs to be pretty well made and not something I hammer together from ikea :p

Can anyone recommend anywhere else worth looking before i place the order?

by the way, i'm not much good at wood work so DIY isn't really an option.

given that this will be a pretty major feature in the room, the girlfriend is insisting on something fairly attractive, not that i'm keen on the plastic coated ones which come with vision tanks etc anyway.

have a look in your yellow pages for joiners and cabinate makers they will undertake the job......however it will come at a price so its best to get some quotes from a few different companys.

Just remember if you get a cabinet maker to do the job you are NOT making cabinets. It's going to be like building a small house, being structurally sound and able to hold more than what your tank will weigh is more important than what it looks like. In the end you will in all actuality have a very strong set of "cabinets".

Obvious stuff I know, but thats a big tank and I'm sure you don't want a flooded house.
