Hi, my tank walls, ornaments, rocks etc are slimy BUT not green, should I clean the slime off in the discarded tank water when I do a water change or is the slime a beneficial algae/bacteria?

yeah if you can take out your rocks and ornaments and clean them in the old tank water, good. i would vac the gravel when you have removed them and up your water changes, add a lot of live stem plants. (bunches of cabomba if you have soft water, elodea if you have hard water) if that doesn't stop it from coming back you could have your lights on for less(or more) aim for 9 hours
