Tank Size

anyone know what the size of a us 75 gallon tank is. my parents have my tank and I am in the process of building a stand, and cut out in the wall. i believe its 48" long, 18 inches tall and 20 inches wide is that right?

when building a stand do you make it an 2 inches wider and 2 inches longer than what the tank is, or do you make it the 48 inches long and 20 inches wide?

so when making the stand do you make it 49" by 19" or do you make it the size of the tank 48" by 18" i am using the stand plans from GARF.

i just need the stand to hold up the tank. I am putting it behind a wall and cutting the wall out around the front piece of glass.

When I have built mine I generally go 1/2" on all dimentions over the size of the base of the tank. Just leaves a little wiggle room in my opinion.

Just make sure that the supports are lined up with the weight of the tank.

I'd go 49x19

I went with 36.5x18.5 for my 65g stand and would have liked the extra 0.5"

whats the highest you would make a stand. I am putting the tank behind the wall. I am thinking I want the top of the tank to be at 63 inches. i have built my stand 43 tall. I am 6'4" so I want to be able to walk up to my tank and look into it.

so the stand is 49 inches long, 19 inches wide and 43 inches tall.

sounds good. now all i have to do is cut the whole in the wall. frame it out, move the tank and everything. then set everything up
