Tank size? Electric Blue Acara

I have a 40 gallon breeder. Can I keep 2 electric blue acaras in it?

Along with a few Cory’s and a couple snails... they would be the only ones in the tank. I will not be stocking anymore fish.

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?

What is the GH (general hardness) and pH of your water supply. This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).

A 40 breeder would be perfect for a pair.

I'm not too sure however corries would be the best idea.

Electric blue acara are very peaceful, but still are cichlids and may decide to try to eat the corries when the acara get bigger

My breeding pair are in a 29g (30"L x 12"W x 24"d). I would love to have a 40 breeder for them but I don't have the room for it right now.

In a community setting adding Cory's to the tank is considered Ok. A medium sized bristle nose may be tolerated for a while but if you end up with a pair all bets are off.

I have mixed mine with angel fish and some rainbows and they seem to pretty much ignore them. But if they pair up they are very territorial and even a 6 foot tank would not be enough for everyone to be happy.

Good tank mates would be other peaceful central and south american cichlids. Or some of the larger tetra's would probably be ignored.
