I have four right now, but would love to add a few more. Been using 2.5 gallon tanks (12"x6"x8") as my standard tanks. although one is in a 5 gallon. Have an empty 8"x4"x8" (without a lid so I can fill it too high). I think this is effectively a 1/2 gallon tank.

Also I dont really have anymore space for 2.5G tanks. I could put a divider in the 5G tank, but Max already got used to having that much space. Don't really want to cut down his space.

I could get more betta's but would have to put them in smaller 1 gallon containers. What do you think?

In my opion I wouldn't keep a betta in less than 2.5galons.

Yes, I kind of feel the same way. They really make use of the entire tank.

They definitely are happier in bigger tanks.

I, personally, find no problem with it, though I tend to put quantity above quality (within limits, of course).

Well I found a small steel table in the basement. Just large enough to hold a 2.5 or 5 gallon tank. So I can add one more :D
