Tank Setup

Im about to buy my first aquarium and start fishless cycling, but have a few questions about the filter options.

The tank i want to buy is a Fluval Uno 600. Is this a good choice for my first attempt?

Also, the kit that comes with the tank includes a Fluval 2 Plus internal filter. I think this could look rather ugly being inside the tank on show, so is there any way of disguising it? Or what sort of external filters could be used with the Uno 600 Tank?
