Tank Sealant

hi all i have been told by a fishkeeping mate that on larger tanks you should get the seals cheked arfter 8+plus years is this true or one of them rumours that do the rounds every now and then .cheers

If it don't leak don't fix it

just keep your eyes open for any escaping water

that sounds like good advice but on the other hand i realy dont want a seam to fail or unzip all that water and flaping fish

I actually had a seam start to open on one of my older tanks. It was the first time I have ever seen that. At the time the tank was well over 30 years old. I know because I owned it the whole time. At 8 years, a tank is sti8ll young.
