Well i bought a second hand Tank, all the sealing Bar one side is pretty good, but i want to re seal the section on the side looking a bit gritty.

I bought a tube of seal for the tank, but how do i reseal it, do i have to Take ALL the Seal from that corner just to re seal a 15 cm patch? including the seal in the gap holding the two sheets together? or can i just score out the section were the two parts meet.

If i can just score the section out, and re seal it how will the cured and fresh seal do meeting horizontally, will this be a problem?

Its a 36" tank
18" tall
12" thick
it holds 128 lites, it will be holding 128 liters of salt water.

Cut out the part that you don't want with a razor blade and goober over it. Have you ever calked a bathtub? If so it is just the same way. Squeeze a line of sinicone over the edge and smooth it out with your finger. If you're rich they make tools that make perfect looking smooth lines if you want to.

But when i overlap the the old seal with new seal at the top at bottom to fill the gap between the old seal, wont the Seal not stick and just mess up?

Cured silicone and new silicone will seal to itself. It wont mess up

Ok Thanks alot

If the tanks water tight, even thought that sides looks a bit moldy, do i really need to re-seal it?
