we have a 72 gallon bowfront that was in our living room. Just moved it upstairs to make room for the 150 gallon we just bought. We got it all set up and filled and realized that its not totally level. When you open the front cabinet where the filter is it catches on the carpet before it fully opens. This is how we could tell. Then I measured, and the top of the tank is a little under a half inch farther from the wall than the bottom of the tank. So its not bad...

Could the tank ever fall over???

I dont think it could but what else could go wrong and what are the chances anything could happen?

thanks!

An uneven tank places stress on the joins and panels that the tank will not necessarily have been built to withstand (and is certainly not covered under the manafacturers warranty). The worse that could happen is that a join gives or a panel cracks and empties your tank onto the floor. The fact that the tank leans away from the wall at the top is not a huge issue with regards to it toppling over but there is still the issue with the above problems.

IMO you should empty the tank and level it off

Thanks for the reply.

After talking it over we decided that we are going to sell the 72 gallon since the 150 gallon will be delivered soon. So it should be ok for the time being but hopefully the next time we empty it will be to have somebody pick it up. I do have somebody interested so Im waiting to hear for sure.
