Tank Mates

I have 5 Cardinal tetras which tend to stay near the bottom and was wondering if some guppies would be compatible? Am going to hold off for a while as tank not completely cycled in spite of "Prime" and other bottled goddies

Personally I wouldn't - tetras can be fin nippers, and the long tails on most fancy guppies would probably be too much for them to resist.

What size is your tank?

Cardinals are pretty calm fish so you should be fine adding guppies. If you had some of the more nasty ones like serpaes or blackskirt then u might have a problem. Generally cardinals and guppies don't occupy the same regions of the tank anyways. Its a good idea to wait til your tank is more cycled before u add the guppies, never rush a tank. The amount of fish of course depends on your tank size.
