Tank Mates

What are some good tank mates that would go well with some rainbow fish? I think im getting some praecox rainbows and im not sure hwat else i can have in the tank with them.

I have mine in with cardinal and diamond head neon tetras and the mix works really well. The rainbows zoom around the mid to upper levels and the tetra tend to keep ot of their way. Feeding time is a frenzy

I'd say peaceful tankmates are the best as mine are quite shy at times I don't regret having mine at all.

Yes check my profile and you'll see my rainbows mix happily with my other inhabitants. Drop some flake in and away they go!

You can mix them with barbs, tetras, gouramis, gobies, sharks and most other fish. Obviously avoid aggressive fish and fish with long fins. Some rainbows will nip fish with long fins (angels, fighters, guppies) but it is uncommon.
You can also keep them with other rainbows, perhaps Melanotaenia pymgaea, M. papuae, Rhadinocentrus ornatus & the bigger forms of Pseudomugil signifer.
