I'm fairly inexperienced with aquariums (have had them on and off over the years).
I'm starting a new 60-gallon tank and fell in love with tinfoil barbs. My plan is to get about 6 fairly small ones (about 1/1/2"-2" long) (I like how they school). But, my understanding is that they are aggressive and need to be with other aggressive fish. I've also already read on this forum that they will hog all the food and eat alot. Question: I'm cool with needing to buy other aggressive fish--Does anyone have suggestions for some cool fish that could word with them. Ideally I'd like to add one to two other types of fish (5-8 more total).

Thanks!

First and foremost you will need a bigger tank, tinfoil barbs are very active and grow amazingly fast reaching around a foot inside 18 months so will need a minimum of a 5x2x2 foot aquarium. Not many fish can compete with them for food so they are best kept in a species tank though a large plec or two could also be added.

I have a friend with 6 in a 100gal....They are very active and when it comes to feeding there crazy...Hes actually had other fish hurt because of them trying to compete for food.
