Australia....... if you are thinking about breeding big cichlids like the Frontosa, you will have to be prepared for it, such things should be taken so lightly. But i'm sure that you are prepared......so good luck!! :good:

this is what i am going to do and what i know.

yep i sure do......for starters i will be feeding them Shrimp pellets, Spirulina Pellets, Bloodworms, OSI Maintence Flake this is really important when females have mouthfuls to feed a good quality flake as they can't eat pellets or much else, If you keep them in really good condition they will breed very well. If they are poor in condition when they get a mouthful they lose so much weight that it takes them 3-4 months before they will breed again. Anyhow not saying you have to feed it all but it's important to vary what they eat. They need alot of different vitamins and minerals. They do eat alot compared to smaller cichlids.

yup, as I thought, you are fully ready to breed those frontosas. Here are some info (if you needed it) on breeding those cute monsters:

Establish a breeding colony with one male per three to four females. groups in a large tank tolerate other subdominant males. spawning is not as aggressive as other cichlid species. the female mouthbroods for more or a little less than five weeks. remove the fry and raise them separately. any fish that is smaller than 3 inches will be cosidered as food (YUM). I think that you know all what I had just said  I did breeded frontosa before, but it was long time ago.
