Tank Growth!

Is this an emergency? Not sure, but better safe than sorry.

Over the last couple of days I've noticed a strange growth on the glass of the tank. It 's white, dendritic and ephemeral (seems to only last 48 hrs or more).

I posted these pics on another fish forum and some suggestions were slime mold, but I'm not convinced (it doesn't look 'slimey').

Tank background. This is a new 37 L tank just cycling (Nitrite spike at the moment, so changing 20% water regularly). In the tank are two small platys and two small mollies.

Had a look at the Staghorn algae and I'm not convinced. I think this is something else.

A mineral growth from the raised Nitrites (tank is cycling at the moment)?

Fish don't seem worried by it :)
 
do you feed your fish worms.That looks like microworms to me very much like microworms.Do you feed your fish worms.
