Hi guys, just a "quick" question regarding how or if I should divide a spare tank I have.

It's a Fluval fish tank that holds 50Litres of water.

I'd like 3quaters of the tank to use as breeding grounds for a pair of bristlenose plecs, and the other quater for a betta fish or shrimps.

Would it be the case of using aquarium sylicone and finding a bit of acrylic to seperate the tank?

Would I be better off finding some acrylic that isn't see-through so the fish in each section cannot see eachother?

Also circulation could be an issue, to go around this would it be okay to drill some holes into it?

Thankyou for your time,

Tim.

To be honest I don't think that a divided 50l is big enough for a pair of bristlenose to breed in. The good news however is that there is nothing wrong with you keep the bristlenose with shrimp and/or a betta and them still being happy enough to breed. Make sure the caves you provide for spawning are small enough that when they're in them with the eggs the fighter cant get in and they should be fine.

The fighter will probably pick off a couple of fry but they'll soon be too big to be eaten so that's really not a massive problem.

I have no issue with the bristlenose in there on their own, just thought it would be nice to get a betta fish too.
