tank cycle

:crazy: i have been cycling my 25 gallon tank now for 3 weeks i was wondering with the levels they are now is it going to be ok or do i need to do something i have 7 white cloud minnows in the tank i just did a pwc and did a water test
ph 7.5
amonia 0
nitrite1.6
nitrate 50
i was also told that i should only have a maximum 2 minnows wich i really don,t believe thanks for all yr help :kana:
 
i would do a pwc again tommorow to bring nitrItes under 1.0ppm

Good advice. Repeat it every day the nitrites (or ammonia) get above 1ppm. Hopefully, soon enough, the nitrites will drop on their own and your tank will be cycled. 7 white clouds might be a bit too many for cycling a 25g (4 sounds about right), but they're hardy little guys. Just don't add anything until you've had NO ammonia and NO nitrites consistantly for several days with slowly increasing nitrates.

It's also good to keep nitrates below 40ppm through water changes. Again, not a standard, but a reasonable rule of thumb.
