In order to decorate for the fish I plan to have.. i wanted to provide lots of hiding places and areas in which each fish can feel at home.

I put a large ship on the side of the tank in which the fish swim in and out freely. A hallowed tree truck in a back corner opposite of the ship.. Some 24" tetra plants in the other back corner.. and a small fake plant that the fish seem to like to weave in and out of.

Is it possible to clutter up the floor of the tank too much? Because I plan on adding 2 more bottom feeding fish to co-exist with my rainbow shark i want to make sure that their is enough space while maintaining their own spot in which they can feel that is theirs.

The angelfish like the middle / back corner behind the tree trunk (which sucks cause i rarely get to see them).. that'll change tho once they grow.
The tetras seem to enjoy sitting behind the ship and come out to swim around in the middle.
The rainbow shark (contrary to what ive ready) seems to be spending a lot of time towards the top by the power head swimming in the current. When he's down around the bottom he spends most of his time circling the ship sometimes weaving in and out of it.

Wish i could supply a picture but i don't have a working camera right now. Have to buy a new SD card next time im out.

Never add more than you can clean !!!! You will need to remove the muck from under caves and whatnot - and it will be disturbing to the fish if you are removing them to clean under them.
Fish tend to "go into hiding" when ill or dying, so its really easy to overlook the odd missing one... plus you will have "dead water" where debris will collect... all this will add to the tank pollution, so YES you can overdo it !

Easy.... stand back 10ft and look at it rationally.... If, In your mind you feel it is overdone, then it is.....

Simply remove some of the "things" untill you feel comfortable..... Then your fish would be as well.
