I have just ordered 5 new fish from overnightfish.com (which i suggest using) and they are 1 yellow tang, 1 porcipine pufferfish, 1 shrimp , a percula clown and choco chip starfish

do these go together well..... :/

thanks, todd

several problems I see. hope your shrimp makes it. i bet your puffer eats him. also if you do not have a tank that is 125 gallons or more your yellow tank will end having problems as well.

give us a low-down on your tank. size, rock work, filtration, lights ect. I just hope its not to late.

Hmm... as has been mentioned, there are problems right away, the puffer is going to thank you kindly for the shrimp starter.

Obviously you will know that the system is only going to be fish only as neither the choclate chip starfish nor the puiffer will be safe in such a tank.

:byebye: thanks for the reply .... i was wondering if i could maybe have a really good hiding place for the shrimp and fed the puffer a lot that maybe they would b ok

also i only have a 30 gallon tank but hoping to get a bigger one soon

should i put the shrimp in a small 10 gallon tank for now or try him in the 30 gallon tank?????? do puffers eat flake or pellets??????

please respond

im only 14 years old, a little new at this but im ganna b a marine biologist and figured i might as well get used to fish ....

thanks for responding

todd
:D

i have live sand and crushed coral for bottom, 5 pounds live rock and a penguin 175 filter... i heard that is good , i also have a protein skimmer and good light .. not suitable for coral though... hoping to get one some day but as im 14 years old and paying for all of this myself it might b a while

well thats the story of my tank

plz respond

thanks, todd

return the tang. in a 30 gallon it is very very small. even with hiding places the shrimp will still get eaten. the shrimp is nocturnal (sp) so when it comes out at night the puffer with its big eyes will see it and eat it.

your puffer will want to be fed small pieces of silver sides, shrimp, krill, mysis shrimp ect. your clown can and will eat flakes, but you should feed it zoo=planton, chopped up mysis shrimp, brine shrimp (as a treat) ect.

in a 30 gallon a puffer is pushing the limits as well. good luck to you.

Hi Todd

Just passing on my experience, my beautiful porcupine (Elliott) ate my clown fish ,He was asleep on the floor of the tank and Elliott just scooped him up.I am sure he didn't mean to because he was so sweet.lol.He then attacked and cruelly ate two cleaner shrimp. So I would be very wary of putting a porc in with shrimp and clown fish.

Can only tell you that pocrs are great pets they respond to you and wave their fins around like a dog wags its tail. You can also hand feed them (with care)

Sadly Elliott died but now I have Frank and he is cute too.

Good luck

Sam

trolling or just stupid?

donno why he would ask after he received them instead of before purchasing or at least before he received if he isn't trolling...

Saltwaterstone, better to ask before the purchase it is. :alien:

Have you tried looking at a compatiblity chart?

Porc puffers reach almost 2 feet long, ive seen a full grown one and it was HUGE, I have a feeling we've had this thread before????
