Tango's Sad Weekend

this is my cat Tango, he got hit by a car and broke his left hip last saturday. He had to have surgery to fix it. The surgery is called an FHO where basicly they took the little ball off his hip so his leg is just floating there not attatched to his pelvis anymore. It is a sudo joint. He can still walk and is doing quite well and would like to be pet of the month. This picture is of his first day home.

Aww, poor thing. He doesn't look like it's bothering him too much though. Bet he's getting spoiled rotten at the moment.

He definatly gets my vote for the potm! Anyone care to second it?

He is doing well aside from the limping and not being able to jump. He hasn't even been protesting about not being able to go outside. this morning he was feeling spunky and decided to play with some of his toys.

What a handsome boy, My Basil had the same operation, he made a really quick recovery - suffered with a limp for a few months but even that went after a while. Must admit when they first told me that the intented to take the ball off the top of his hip joint I was rather worried - the thought of it just floating there (which it doesn't really do after a while) was scary.

Wish him all the best, I will be voting for him

Glad to hear that your cat doesn't have a limp. Can He jump? Why did he need the operation? My cat is 9 months old and use to love to run and jump and climb trees, so the thought of him not doing those things is very sad. I was very suprised when he got hit, (I was not home when it happened) but I very rarely ever saw him in the front yard, always in the back with his best friend Stornie, my rabbit. And I know his leg will for scar tissue and no longer be floating there, but it still seems strange. here is a photo of Tango with Stormie before the accident.

I lost my lovely Ginger Tom on Christmas day to a car accident...

So I will definately nominate this handsome chappie as POTM...

Thanks Guys!! He is doing great!! Sadly he needed a second operation to smooth out the bones because his femor was rubbing on hi hip still and the bones rubbing together were painfull. He is doing much better after this second surgery. I bought him this new toy and I think He likes it!

Sorry about your kitty. My last cat was eaten by a coyote in September last year it was the strangest thing, we live in a city! the neighbors saw the coyote the day before my cat disapeared. We found his body 3 days after he went missing, most of it was eaten This is his picture
