What should i feed this fella and im told they grow really fast but catfish to me grow slow, so is this a fast grower for cats? also he is breathing a bit heavy tonight but seems more relaxed now so he is used to the tank.

I did have 1 but he died, they grow fast, we had them at work and they grew really fast 4 a cat.

Most catfish grow far faster than Cichlids, the only ones that grow slow are the armoured types like plecs, corys and raphaels. Try keeping one of the larger Pimeloid species one day and how fast they grow, 2" a month isnt uncommon and with powerfeeding some can grow 3" a month!!

Yeah it depends, I bought two 2" Pim pictus over the summer, and they are both about full size (6") already! However my rubbernose pleco that I got in november hasn't grown at all

3" a month? damn! but whats your type of power feeding with them? what should i give me?

Protein based foods, such as prawn/fish/carnivore pellets/catfish pellets or even better JMC protein pellets, my cats go nuts tryin to eat that stuff!

Well I have had my pictus's for about 2 weeks and they have already grown a little larger. Somewhere around 3/4". My raphael hasnt grown since i got him 3-4 mo's ago except for maybe a little. My cories have always grown fast. My pandas went from about an inch to around 2 and 1/4" in about a month and a half.

I have Nutrafin pellets and they are pretty meaty because they helped my cories grow their fins back to normal after being attacked
