I got him from WM about 5 days ago...and he hasn't improved. At first i thought it was from being in a tiny cup with bad water...but he's been in a 2.5 for the past 5 days.

He doesn't swim around, completely inert but he is alive. he won't accept any food, even live does not interest him. His fins are clamped too.

I treated him with ridich the first day as a preventative (I always do that when getting someone new, just to be safe) and am treating with aquarium salt in his tank. He has no signs of anything physical, no ich or velvet or columnaris...

Is there anything else I can do for him? I can't stand seeing him miserable...

He is a very very pale white/yellow color with blue iridescence on his fins...my boyfriend said maybe he's got something wrong with him b/c of his color. I don't think this is so, but is it possible?

He is missing one of his ventral fins, it is starting to regrow, could it be an infection from that? Possibly internal parasites?

I dont have any advice for you but I hope things get better :/ Im sure someone will be along soon to give you some advice :)

Can somebody -please- please help me?...He's not improving at all...anything, even just thoughts on the matter....

I know it is so difficult to sit and watch him and not be able to do anything because of a lack of symptoms. I lost a female recently and I still do not know what was wrong with her.

You could try an antibiotic...it may be the early stages of columnaris...it is just so hard to tell. A general antibiotic like kanamycn. I generally don't think you should start right in with antibiotics...maybe keep an eye on him tonight and if he is not getting better give one.

Good luck

It might be, like you said, internal parasites.... keep his water clean and warm and try not to stress him. You might want to add some aquarium salt too. He might just be still adjusting, alhough that is pretty unlikely. If he doesn't perk up, I'd treat for internal parasites.

Hope he gets better soon!

Treated for Intestinal Parasites...he's gone now... :byebye: Didn't make it...

I am so sorry he did not make it....swim free little fish.
