I currently have 2 clowns in my tank and I was wondering if there is a way I could switch sand out without creating to much stree to the fish. I have this ugly black and white sand in my tank  and I really wanted to put in some nice clean white sand any thoughts?

Set up a holding tank - those stackable boxes are good - get the water to the same sg, temp etc and then catch the clowns, one by one or if you are lucky both together in a pint beer mug, as long as the conditions in the holding tank are the same as your tank just put the clowns straight in - would be very tempted to syphon out some of the water from the tank to do it :good:

Take out your lr and add to the same holding tank, syphon out most of the water in to another or the same holding tank and bingo - easy peasy, get the old sand out - I have found using a new pets food scoop a good way of doing it or a child's plastic spade :good:

The new sand will take a while to settle, but shouldn't be much of a problem - when putting the water back in, use a cereal bowl or the like to syphon the water in to to avoid a massive storm cloud
