Just thought it was worth taking a moment to mourn the passing of someone who was a great inspiration to many in the aquarium hobby. His aquascapes were some of the best documented, particularly outside the fishkeeping world and I've taken inspiration from a lot of his work.

I hope he can rest in peace.

He was a great inspiration and many aqua-scapers and shrimp keepers alike can give much thanks to his efforts.
RIP.

Rest in Peace Mr. Amano. Your work and passion has been a great inspiration for me. :rip:

Sad news to wake up to this morning.

Wow, that is a shock to the system.

Takashi has certainly left a legacy in his tank aqua designs and innovative ideas.

May he rest in peace

For those of you who share a passion, as I do, for planted aquascapes this news will come as a shock and with sadness. I just learned that on August 4th, 2015 Takashi Amano died of complications from pneumonia. He was 61 years of age. His influence in the hobby simply cannot be underestimated.

I can't believe this, its so sad, we have lost a truly brilliant artist, his aquascape designs are so inspirational, its such a sad loss.

61 is far too early. Sayonara, Amano-Sensei.
