I just got this betta recently and I was wondering what type of tail he has. Thanks!

It's a "Plakat", technically a spade tail. (Like mine, in my profile picture. )

Ok thanks! I wondered because when I bought him he was labelled as a halfmoon, but his fin are too short and when you search up plakat he looks a bit different.

No problem! yes, defiantly not a halfmoon. Halfmoons tails are a full 180 degrees, just like an actual "half moon". Beautiful Betta!

There are half moon plakats They are plakats which have tails that spread a full 180 degrees.


Barry Tetra will tell us that plakat is the name for any type of betta in Thai, but in the betta breeding world it means a betta with short fins.
