USA,
so the new girls were getting on good when the blue one got stuck in a plant, i think that the green one kinda ate away from its nice tail. Will it grow back or do I have to buy her some meds. Im putting salt in with her. Also shes in a new home now, away from the other one.

the tail woudl most likely grow back, i wouldn't add any meds unless you see her developing signs of finrot. I woudl just throw in some salt to hlep protect her and do regular water changes. Nothing too out of the ordinary really.

okay, thanks. i knew that some fish, like corries, missing parts grow back, but i wasnt sure about bettas. i know fin rot is like a red color on the fin, but if her fins are red, how will i be able to know? and one more thing, when it grows back, will it be in color, or kinda clearish? My corries fin grew back clearish, and i dont know if that happens to all fish or not.

you'll always be able to tell where the tial was damaged. The fins won't acutally GROW back again, but i find that most betta tails just...close adn the split just starts to stick back together. Anyways, it's like a scare, there's alwas gonna be something sorta weird with her tail :) but nothing too noticable i dotn' think.

As for finrot, it'll usually appera as a black/brownish type of thing around the edges. My red betta had finrto and he had a black lining on the tail (looks like dead leaves or something). If you see that, that's when i'd start putting in some meds. But i have another male that got a chunk ripped off his tail and he never got finrot, the tail healed about 90% :)

oh thats good, i hope shell be fine. thanks :)
