T5 Tubes

Are T5 tube - really that good for the tropical tank or is it that they are designed for marine tanks (blue specturm)

I have over 300watt of T5 lighting - now looking to downgrade back to t8 tubes to get more red light into the tank has anyone had any good experences with t5 tubes?

You can buy tubes that are designed for freshwater plant use that will give you the right spectrum for growth.

You probably have marine bulbs which tend to sit between 10,000K and 18,000K instead of the 6,700K desired for freshwater plant growth.
