T5, t5, anyone t5?

T5's are the next best think to a halide. I have a double 150watt 10,000K halides and 2 blue T5's on my reef as well as 2 normal tubes. T5's are a high intensity tube. they are only really sutable for 24" deep tanks or less as they dont really punch the light down like a halide and they also don't give the "rippling" effect of a halide. very good though. i'd go for 8 if you can, this will give you pleanty of light and should bring the colours of some of your corals out more.

hope this helps

ste :)

I use T5s with T8s in my aquarium. Basicaly the T8s are what came with the aquariums and T5s (Arcadia starter units) are the extras i added to boost lighting. Expensive at first but cheaper than T8s over the long run because you dont need as many and they last alot longer before needing replacement.

I only have freshwater planted aquaria though.

After a week of research... really a week... I don't work atm :(

I am going with just what is on this post. I will use the bulbs it comes with and 2blues and an atinic (sp) I wanted the suns but they are back ordered to forever and debatable in how much difference there really is.

now... more water movement in the tank....

I don't want to add more heat to the tank but using an outside pump seems like it will be a real pain to get any alternating currents and multiple outlets.

I think I am going to just get some maxi jets and that good switcher... then I guess I need fans too :(

FM did you sell those fish yet cause I need a loan :p
