I recently bought a tank with a hood described as such, "Integrated fluorescent light hood with a full-spectrum T5 light affords great illumination." This was all that was said about the lighting. It is a tall tank (24") and I was wondering how good this lighting is for plants. I really want to try growing dwarf baby tears but I have no idea how good the lighting is and I know they require high light. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

If by Dwarf Baby Tears you mean Hemianthus Callitrichoides then high light is a myth, it can be grown under as little as 1.2WPG with good flow, ferts and CO2. I know WPG is out dated but its a rough guideline. :)

As NA said what's the volume of your tank, what wattage are the bulbs and how many do you have?
