Could a 6x24w t5 unit be enough for clams/acro's? In a 12" deep tank

Borderline for Acro's, should be OK for certain clams, I believe the Dersas are OK under that, but get a second opinion ;)

How long is the tank? If we're talking 24-30" long and shallow like that, you should be fine keeping just about everything... Assuming each lamp has an individual reflector...

I would say 6 T5s over the length of a tank (especially 12" deep) was tons of light :good:

Johnny

its just a standard 2 ft tank, i thought it was tons to, others think otherwise, well its pretty much a ricorida tank ne ways.

6 T5's for rics? You need to diversify  What happend to the halides you were getting?

met a guy with a heap of rics, says halides are bad for them, im goign to take his word on it, seeing as he had like 40 diff colours.

Rics don't like getting SLAMMED by light, so halides can be bad for them if they're placed wrong in the aquarium. I grow mine under halides, but they're a decent ways away from the bulb where the PAR isn't as high...

apparently you can get them used to MH but it takes alot of time and effort. im just gonna go with t5's, i like them because with 6 bulbs i can make the colour however i want
