Does anyone know if this could go straight onto the glass or does the handles have to be used???

I don't see why you couldn't just put it on the glass. Might look kinda funny with the handles sticking up though.

I think it's wise to leave a gap on these because of the heat and a gap will provide a movement of air to cool it down.

You can see feet in the picture, so it will sit on the glass, mebe a few inches above the tank It also clearly states in the auction that they are included
