Hi all, Its about time that I replace my T-5 lighting in my fish tank, however when I went to my LFS, the only lights that they had were the T-5 High output. The guy, who has been wrong with everything that we have asked, said that it was ok to use. I thought there was a difference between the lighting hood accepting T-5 and T-5 HO? So basically, is it ok to use T-5 HO bulbs in a normal T-5 fixture? Thanks for any info

At least he is consistent. A t-5 and a T-5HO each fit the same pin size spacing but that is about the last thing about them that is compatible. If you LFS does not have the right tubes, why not visit your local home improvement center. Mine carries lots of different T-5 tubes.

That's what I kind of figured. He even went in back to 'see' if it would work, which it did. But probably would have caused a large problem later on (burned out bulbs, fixture, or fire). Thanks again
