Synodontis Granulosus

I found this on tropicalfishfinder.co.uk.

Synodontis granulosus
Fish Behaviour/Breeding
Should be kept with fish of a similar size. Most synodontis have the capacity to bully other fish. However, kept with fish of a similar size they are more likely to be relatively peaceful.

Family Group: Catfish
Distribution Lake Tanganyika,East Africa
Temperature 23-27C
Size Around 25cm
Water Parameters Should adapt to most water conditions
Water PH 7.5-8.2

Hope it helps! :)

They are a lesser seen species of the Synodontis family. I was after one recently but simply couldn't spare the £120 I was asked for a rather young one. :/ They are handsome looking catfish and can reach a decent size up to 18inches (even though they say half that on Planetcatfish http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/speci...?species_id=416 ). Therefore they do need a large tank.
Contrary to popular belief most synodontis LIKE the company of their own kind. An exception being the Angelicus who prefers other catfish species for company. The larger the group the better a system they work in although they do need a hiding place each and space to swim and play. Chances are they'll all squish themselves into one area of the tank during daytime hours but the choice should be there.
With the Granulosus I have no experience personally but am hoping they will eventually reduce in price so I can get a group (and a good large tank...yes another one....for them).
