i have just bought my first tank i have a swordtail that is pregnant it now has a white spot coming from its backside i have bought a net and put it in is this the right thing to do and when will it give birth

If she has whitespots, u'll have to treat it. A net is not good for putting her in, I would go for a breeding trap, so her fins won't get caught in the net.

As for when she'll give birth, depends on how "big" her tummy goes. Can u see if her tummy's black in colour (if yes the frys r inside ready to come out!)
