I have some standard TetraMin flakes for my tiger barbs, Spectrum Thera + A sinking pellets for my clown loaches...the barbs somehow get the the pellets before the loaches can get their share  is there a way to combat that? also i heard the same food over and over is bad for a fish, what other things should i look at getting for these guys?

The only way i have been able to combat the problem of certain fish getting the food before others, is putting more food in. runs an over feeding risk, but i havent been able to think of any better ideas so far. somebody else may have an idea tho. as for the same food being bad for fish.. never heard of it before.

If you get snails for your tank, not only will they keep it clean, but when they breed (and they WILL breed) the clowns will eat the baby snails.

Also, occasionally give your fish daphnia, brine shrimp, or some other sort of live food. When you go to a lfs you will see these clear sachets with them in (as well as water, obviously).

DO NOT put the water in with your tank, especially if you are using brine shrimp. The water is always horrid and brine shrimp live in salt water. I pour the live food into my net over the toilet which filters out all of the water, then i run it backwards in my tank so all the food comes out.

im currently doing a fish in cycle with the tank, do i have to wait until that is finished to add the snails?

Thanks for the help btw
