right i just noticed this morning when feeding my fish that one of my zebra dino's(or what ever there called) is sinking like a brick  it's just darting around in circles on the bottom of the tank and cant seem to swim up so it couldent get to the surface to get any food does this sound like a swimm bladder problem? and is there any way i can treat it?

the other fish seem just fine and are having no problems what so ever

any help would be great

thanks in advance

Okay - I just had the same exact issue. The reason for my Zebra D's problems, I believe, was an ammonia spike.

I moved it out of the tank and put it into its own, but still it would not eat. After a few days, the swimming issue went away...yet it still stuck to the bottom portion of the tank and refused to eat anything.

I tried everything I could - but yesterday, the fishy swam off to the great fishbowl in the sky.

Check your water parameters. Do daily water changes ( 20% ) with fresh dechlorinated water.

I have read somewhere on these boards that a cure for swim bladder issues is putting the fish in a tank filled only a few inches high with water, and feeding crushed green pea. Its worth a try I guess, if you can swing it.

Cross your fingers. I hope you have better luck than I did!

cheers for the advice ive checked the ammonia and its fine

levels are

Nitrate - 0 ppm

Nitrite - 0.2 mg/L

Ammonia - 0 ppm

so im stumped as to whats caused it but i will try seperating it in my hospital tank

ok the swimm bladder problem seems to have cleared up and my zebra dino is now eating ok he still has a slight problem with direction when he's swimming slow he's fine but when he but when he's swimming fast he has no control of where he's going just slams into the glass and gravel

does this sound like it will clear up pn its own?
