I am going to treat a friends tank for a swimbladder problem. One of the fish has it the other is fine. Do i have to separate the fish with the problem or can i treat the whole tank. Currenty don't have a spare tank so hopefully i can treat the whole thing.

What are you treating it with and what is the procedure that you are going to follow? If it is a lengthy treatment or involves salt etc. then i would treat the fish in isolation as there is no point in stressing the healthy fish if its avoidable. HTH :)

I was planning on adding salt. And one of the swimmbladder treatments from my LFS, can't remember who makes it though. I did have a quick flick through the instructions in the packet and it didn't mention separating the fish. Maybe it assumes you have separated it already. I'll go buy the treatment and see how long it has to be treated for.
