A friend of mine went on a week long roadtrip to Minnesota recently for a family funeral. She just got back tonight and popped in to say hi a little while ago. She starts busting out these things such as magnets that she bought from the aquarium at the mall of America & a couple of Homer Simpson things that she picked up for me along the way, THEN she picks up this white paper bag and says "I got you something else" and pulls out the most beautiful lavender/pink crown tail betta    Apparently he's been on the road with her for awhile, she purchased him in Minnesota

Coincidently enough, I had decided to upgrade one of my males from his one gallon to a 2.5 because he was just getting too large for the 1 so I ran out earlier today and picked up a 2.5 and some silk plants for him,but I hadn't moved him into it yet so I actually had an empty tank waiting for my new arrival :D
The other male will just have to tough it out in his 1 for a little longer I guess

Just thought I'd share

Oooo! Oooo! Oooo! White/lavender! Picture! Picture! Picture! Picture! Picture! Picture! :hyper: :fun: :hyper: :fun: :hyper:

What a wonderful story, Wuvmybetta! :D Thanks for sharing that with us.

Not only do you have a traveling fish, you have a true friend, too. Only a real friend would carry a fish, in a car, with her for 950 miles.

Yay for Minnesota and for fish from Minnesota!!!! (I'm a Minnesota girl.) Hmmm...never looked at Mall of America for aquariums. Haven't been there since my fish "interest" started. The fish that traveled cross-country! That's great! And I was worried my Betta wouldn't make the 2-1/2 hour trip from home to college!

Gotta agree with Inch here! Only a true friend would buy you a fish in Minnesota when you both live in TX! :) What a great friend!

Enjoy the new fishy! Let's see...whaddya gonna name him? Traveler? Nah...not good enough. Let us know what you do name it!

That really was sweet, wasn't it?

I guess he was incredibly pale when he got here a few hours ago,now that he's settling in and eaten a few brine and some pellets he's really brightened up to be simply gorgeous. When he presents his finnage it's certain that he has some half moon gene floating around in there and the tips of his fins (the crown part) is almost an inch long, absolutely striking, 5 different shades of purple,he's lovely

lizard, the Mall of America has an aquarium that is 1.5 million gallons (that's what the magnet says  ) I was told that it costs 12.00 to get in and that it's pretty awesome  Next time your home for a holiday you may want to check it out :D

I'll post pics as soon as I can :p
