This might be a mental idea, but I tell you what does look swampy (after water changing my son'e Edge earlier) and that's BBA...If you had a good crop of that on some wood, it would look like that old man's beard lichen...

(my son really likes the look of it, btw, won't let me touch it!)

it doesn't sound crazy i quite like it... id have to agree with fluttermoth. i have a little BBA in my tank's and i love it... oh and iv got a lot of java fern left if you want i can post it. (if you cover the postage, to much of it flutter )
