Fish Fanatic
Hi,
Between my work area/office and the lounge is a fairly large hole - left when the extension was added on to the house.
The hole measures 111cm wide x 120cm high x 30cm deep. Obviously this is just screaming out to have some kinda tank there, hence this post looking for some advice / guidance.
I was thinking of making the depth 60cm or more by adding a support / shelving system on the other office side as i need shelf space anyway. So this could in theory take a tank 110cm wide x 60ishcm deep x as yet undecided height.
Now my main areas I would like advice on (providing the budget can take it )
could this be done as viewable from both sides with only a 60cm depth. ie putting the live rock in the centre and having open areas around it
would a say 70,80,90cm deep tank be feasible for a sw / reef setup (or another height suggestion allowing for lighting rigs etc)
I appreciate the deeper it gets the issues for corals and lighting get more involved.
Any advice/opinions/suggestion would be great - even those "dont do it - youre insane" ones
Just like to sound the idea out before delving more into costings etc
many thanks
Mike
