ok well im still fairly new to this hobbie my tank (included its fishless cycling stage) has only been up and runnign for just over a month now - the girl at the LFS said that it was very unlikely that i will get any pregnant fish just yet as it depends on the quality of my water but i KNOW that 2 of my fish are pregnant its so obviously their bellies are just swollen - i can compare on of the blue platys which is pregnant to the other female which is comparitvely smaller than the other and can see she must be pregnant - i mean where do i start what do i need to buy? do i need some breeding nets and how do i know when to put them in there to have the baby when i dont know when its due??? aghhh general advice wud be much appreciated!!!

It really depends on what you want to do with the fry. If you want to keep all of them (all hundred) you will need a separate tank for them and should immediately start cycling that tank. You should get a breeder trap for the pregnant mommies, but they only go into it a day or so before they give birth.

but will it be like a continous cycle of pregnant - birth-pregnant - birth for the rest of their lives??? eek im kinda worried!
