Hi, im looking to get back into marine again. I've had time out in the garage with cars but need something else to keep me busy during the cold nights/when the car is off the road lol

I've been looking at the Superfish Aqua Cube 40 from Maidenhead Aquatics. The question is I want an invisible filtration system, so can the glass on this tank be drilled/cut with a diamond bit? I've heard you shouldn't drill/cut tempered glass but not sure what kind of glass this is...

Help appreciated and thanks for your response.

It just depends on the glass. How many gallons is it?
works out at about 10 gal

Wonder if that glass lid is necessary...seems to me that over time that thing would reflect away a lot of the beneficial spectrum....
clean it?

was thinking along the lines that glass by its very nature reflects certain spectrum. glass becomes opaque over time as well.
Very true

Are you more versed on the subject, Nanocube?

I cant tell for sure whether or not that part of the spectrum phased out is beneficial or not.

Not so much a spectrum but just an amount of light. Because of glasses nature it will reflect light. I cant tell you that a certain spectrum will be taken out but it could be possible(I think its just some light that gets reflected back)As welll as that glass top is bad for air exchange so I would recommend taking it off too.
