Sunfish identification

Hi!

As i was walking in a park, i noticed small baby fishes in an artificial pond. I thought.. goldfish.
As i looked closely, i saw an adult sunfish protecting his nest, hundred of babies around.
Sadly, this pond is human made and they empty it in fall. I have no idea how sunfishes managed to get in it.
I catched 2 babies to keep and will see how i'm able to save more before winter.

That being said, i'm wondering what type of sunfish it could be. I'm in Quebec, so we have alot of northern sunfish.
I know they are still very small, but maybe we got sunfish experts here.

I can't help with identification but try to get 10 or more so there is more chance of getting a pair.

Any ideas for tank mates, once i'll set their bigger tank ?
