Im in planning stages of a 200 gallon cichlid tank which is going to be overstocked for filteration ive decided on a home made acyrilc sump I was thinking two 1500 lph pumps and two towers for bio balls but i have a couple of question ( for now ).

1. Was thinking of two towers for bio balls each one 12"x12"x12" giving me 2sq foot on bio balls is this enough ?

2. What size inlet pipes would i need there will be two overflows in the tank one at each end also what size outlets two again.

I think thats it for now the reason there is two of everything is that if one fails there is a back up better safe than wet.

More than enough bioballs. You could almost certainly do with just one (for safety just have both overflows go into one tank). I prefer to have my trickle towers taller and smaller cross section (my better one is 2 feet tall, but only about 12"x6" in cross section).

1500LPH might go in 25mm pipe, but I would plumb with 32mm just to be safe (32mm on each one)
