Hi everyone. I have been thinking about making my sump smaller before I get started. I currently have a 90 gal. tank that I will be making into a reef tank. My sump is maybe 20 gallons. Could I use a smaller sump for this operation?

In general, what size sump should you have for a 90 gallon tank?

they sey tht you should have atleast 10% of the tank volume in a sump. so therefore if the power fails the sump will not overflow.

Hope this helps Adam

Yeah i wouldn't go smaller than 20g for a 90g display tank. That's just asking for trouble
