sump pump power

hope somebody replies really soon, im gonna leave in an hour to buy the pump what power do i need ? theres this rule of thumb thingie with filtration that i always keep forgetting... what volume of water should be rotated every when ?!?!

Is this a marine tank, then it should be be able to ter the water over about5-10 times per hour(in a fish only tank), in a reef tank it should be at least 10 times per hour and more(some experts say 40 to 50 tph.

For example, a 30 gallon reef aquarium should be at least 300 gallons/hour of turnover.
